Wild Sustainable Spot Prawns/ Botan Ebi
Wild Sustainable Spot Prawns/ Botan Ebi
Wild-caught in British Columbia, Canada. Come frozen, head removed (to maintain freshness). About 10-20 pieces per 226g (1/2lb) tub. Spot prawns are smooth and amazingly sweet. Read more about spot prawns (otherwise known as botan ebi) here.
We import this directly from the spot prawn fishermen themselves, and are hence able to provide a competitive price.
Cooking tip: Spot Prawns taste best when they are cooked fast — between 30 seconds and two minutes.
Spot prawn stocks are carefully and sustainably managed in BC, Canada by limiting the number of vessels that can commercially harvest spot prawns. The catching season is short, and closed once the prawn stocks approach a pre-determined level.

With paying the extra for these prawns - the taste was fresh and sweet and juicy. Amazing quickly fried in garlic butter with the shells on.
Ooh, probably the only place in Singapore where you can find these spot prawns (originating from Canada). These prawns live deeper in the sea, and are therefore less exposed to pollution, naturally sweet and kept very fresh even though they were from Canada. Very satisfied and pleasantly surprised that Dishthefish sells this!
They were so fresh and sweet! Cooked the prawns in a butter garlic linguine and everyone loved it. Will definitely order again
